Terms of service

These terms govern your use of the Tare website and service operated by Tare (“Tare”, “we”). By creating an account, running an obligation check, or requesting a demo you agree to them.

What Tare does

Tare estimates whether your business is a producer under US state packaging extended producer responsibility (EPR) programs, estimates program fees, prepares supply reports in the format required by the producer responsibility organization, and reminds you of deadlines. Obligation results and fee figures are estimates built from published program rules and from your sales and packaging data. They are not legal advice and they are not a guarantee of what a program, a PRO, or a regulator will decide.

Your responsibilities

• You confirm that the sales, revenue, and packaging data you provide or connect is accurate and that you are authorized to share it.
• You review each supply report before it is submitted. A report is only submitted with your approval.
• Registration with a PRO, fee invoices, and payment are between you and that organization. Tare does not hold or remit program fees on your behalf.
• You keep your login email secure. Magic links sent to that address grant access to your account.

Fees and billing

Pricing is shown on our website per state and per program year. Prices exclude program fees owed to any PRO or state agency. We may change prices for future periods with notice.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Tare is not liable for indirect or consequential losses, or for penalties, fees, or interest assessed by a program, PRO, or regulator, except where expressly agreed in a written order form. Our total liability under these terms is limited to the amounts you paid us in the twelve months before the claim.

Termination

You can stop using Tare at any time and ask us to delete your account. We may suspend accounts that misuse the service or that we reasonably believe are not operated by an authorized representative of the business.
