This policy explains what Tare (“Tare”, “we”) collects, why, and how it is handled.

What we collect

  • Account data: your email address, business name, and annual revenue band, used to sign you in and to assess exemption thresholds.
  • Store data: when you connect a Shopify store we import products, variants, weights, and order line items by ship-to state for the reporting year. Access tokens are encrypted at rest and used only to read this data.
  • Packaging data: packaging components you enter or that we estimate from product descriptions, with their source and confidence.
  • Demo and contact requests: the details you submit on our demo form.
  • Usage data: standard server logs (IP address, browser, pages requested) kept for security and debugging.

How we use it

To determine your EPR obligations, estimate fees, prepare supply reports, send deadline reminders and transactional email, respond to your requests, and keep the service secure. We do not sell personal data and we do not use your data to train AI models.

Service providers

We rely on hosting and database providers, an email delivery provider for sign-in links and reminders, and an AI provider that receives product titles and descriptions to suggest packaging components. Each processes data only on our instructions. Supply reports are shared with a producer responsibility organization only when you approve a filing.

Retention and deletion

We keep account and filing data while your account is active and for as long as program record-keeping rules require, then delete it. You can ask us to delete your account and disconnect your store at any time; we will also remove the stored Shopify access token.

Your rights

You can request a copy of your data, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it by emailing shireenkadhium1@gmail.com. Residents of states with privacy laws (including California) may have additional rights, which we will honor as those laws require.
